The content is kind of outdated since it was published in and both China and EU have changed much since then. Yahuda's description of the social thoughts prevailing in China in the s and 20s does not seem very accurate to me. Shambaugh again demonstrates his amazing writing and analytic skills in providing a comprehensive assessment of Sino-European relations from both parties' perspective.
